Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying pre-owned ASIC miners from Apexio Mining

🛒 Ordering & Products

What condition grades do you use?

We grade every unit in one of four condition tiers:

  • Certified Refurbished — Full bench testing, 72-hour burn-in, replaced thermal interface material, fresh firmware. 90-day warranty.
  • Used – Tested Working — Pool-verified hash output, visual inspection, basic cleaning. 30-day warranty.
  • Used – Working — Brief bench test only, sold as-is working. 14-day DOA only.
  • For Parts / Not Working — Salvage inventory. Final sale, no warranty.

Condition grade is clearly marked on every product listing and invoice.

Are your prices really 70% below retail?

Our prices are benchmarked against new-equivalent retail pricing from official OEM channels. Pre-owned inventory typically trades at 40–80% below new retail depending on generation, condition, and current market difficulty. Our listings reflect the lower end of that range because we source directly from farm decommissions, not through resellers.

We show the original retail price alongside our price on every listing so you can verify the discount.

How do I know the units will actually hash at the stated rate?

Every Certified Refurbished unit is hash-tested on our private Braiins Pool node for 72 hours before listing. Test logs with timestamped pool snapshots are available on request after purchase.

Used – Tested Working units pass a 10-minute to 2-hour verification on the same bench. For Parts units are not hash-tested — they are sold explicitly as salvage.

Can I buy just a few units as a home miner?

Yes. We regularly ship single-unit orders to home and hobby miners. Minimum order is 1 unit. However, note that most ASIC miners run at 70–78 dB — hot, loud, and inappropriate for living spaces. A garage, shed, or dedicated outbuilding with 240V service is strongly recommended.

If you want something quieter, check our Goldshell Mini-DOGE listings (55 dB) which are more apartment-compatible.

Do you offer volume discounts for 10+ units?

Yes. For orders of 10 or more units of the same model, we offer additional discounts typically 5–15% below listed price. Contact volume@apexiomining.com with the quantity, model, and destination country for a custom quote. We can also source specific models not listed if you commit to 20+ units.

💳 Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Bitcoin Lightning — instant settlement, near-zero fees. Best for orders under $2,000.
  • Bitcoin On-Chain — 2-confirmation settlement (~20 min).
  • USDT TRC-20 (Tron) — $1 network fee, ~3 min settlement.
  • USDT ERC-20 (Ethereum) — higher fees ($3–$15), recommended only for large orders.
  • Bank wire (SWIFT) — available for orders above $10,000 USD. Contact sales.

We do not accept credit cards, PayPal, or Western Union.

How fast does payment confirm?

Lightning: ~10 seconds. USDT TRC-20: ~3 minutes. Bitcoin on-chain: ~20 minutes (2 confirmations). USDT ERC-20: ~5 minutes. Bank wire: 1–3 business days.

Our system automatically detects blockchain confirmations and sends you an email once settlement is confirmed.

Can I pay in fiat currency?

Bank wire (SWIFT) is available for orders above $10,000 USD equivalent. We do not accept fiat for smaller orders because our margins are too tight to absorb chargeback risk. Crypto payments eliminate this risk and let us pass the savings to you.

🚚 Shipping & Customs

What is DDP shipping?

DDP = Delivered Duty Paid. It means we handle all import duties, taxes, and customs clearance in your destination country. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay — no surprise bills from customs agents, no "your package is held pending clearance" emails.

DDP is more expensive for us than standard shipping, but it removes the #1 pain point of international mining equipment purchases.

How long does shipping take?

Standard dispatch: 24–48 hours after payment confirmation. Transit time after dispatch:

  • Asia-Pacific: 2–4 business days
  • North America: 3–5 business days
  • Europe: 4–6 business days
  • Latin America: 5–8 business days
  • Middle East / Africa: 4–7 business days
  • Oceania: 4–6 business days

For sea freight (orders of 50+ units), transit is 15–40 days depending on destination — significantly cheaper per unit.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship to 100+ countries including all of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia/NZ, Middle East, and most of Africa. We do NOT ship to sanctioned destinations (North Korea, Syria). For specific country availability, check at checkout or contact sales.

Some countries (Iran, Venezuela, Cuba) require additional documentation — we can still ship but lead time is longer.

🛡 Warranty & Returns

What happens if my miner is dead on arrival?

Every unit (except For Parts) includes at minimum a 14-day DOA guarantee. If your unit arrives non-functional, email support@apexiomining.com within 14 days with: the order ID, serial number, a photo of the unit, and a description of the failure mode. We will arrange either a replacement unit or a refund of the unit cost plus return shipping.

Can I return a unit if I change my mind?

No. Due to the specialized nature of the inventory and the cost of international shipping, all sales are final except in cases of defective units under warranty. Please read listings carefully and contact sales before ordering if you have any questions.

⚡ Setup & Technical

Do your miners come with firmware installed?

Yes. All units ship with the latest stock OEM firmware (Bitmain, MicroBT, Bitdeer, etc. as applicable). We do not preinstall aftermarket firmware like BraiinsOS or VNish because it can void warranty and invalidate your right to return if you re-flash later.

If you want aftermarket firmware preinstalled, note this in your order — we'll do it for free but the warranty is reduced to 14 days DOA.

What electrical requirements do ASIC miners need?

Most modern SHA-256 ASICs require 220–240V single-phase AC at 15–20A per unit. Some hydro-cooled models require 380–480V three-phase. North American users will need either 240V circuits (standard in most houses for dryers/ovens) or a step-up transformer.

Power draw varies by model from ~600W (Goldshell Mini-DOGE) to 14,000W+ (flagship hydros). Always match circuit capacity to nameplate power plus 25% safety margin.

How noisy are these miners?

Typical air-cooled ASICs: 70–78 dB — roughly as loud as a vacuum cleaner. Hydro-cooled models: 50–58 dB — much quieter, close to a desktop PC. "Home miners" like the Goldshell Mini-DOGE: 55 dB.

For residential areas, hydro or home-miner models are strongly recommended. Standard air-cooled units in a basement or garage will be audible throughout the home.

🔧 For-Parts Inventory

What exactly is included in a "for parts" listing?

For-parts units are non-working miners sold for component salvage. You typically receive:

  • A complete chassis (may be dented/scratched)
  • 1–3 hash boards (condition varies — usually 1 of 3 functional for S19 series)
  • A control board (often functional)
  • A PSU (often functional)
  • Fans (usually functional, may be dusty)
  • Cabling and accessories as applicable

We do NOT individually test for-parts inventory. The price reflects the uncertainty — if you find 2 working hash boards in a for-parts S19, you've essentially bought them for $5–$10 each. If you find only 1, you still break even vs. new-part pricing.

Can I buy for-parts units in bulk (pallet lots)?

Yes. For 20+ for-parts units of the same model, we offer pallet pricing with air freight or sea freight included. Contact volume@apexiomining.com for a quote. Typical pallet yields: ~40% fully recoverable, ~30% partially recoverable, ~30% chassis/PSU only.
